A dress

One of the highlights of having Ophelia, is dressing her up. She even sweetens the deal by enjoying her frocks. Today I whipped up this reversible smock dress.
Based on a dress I bought last year from the Nesting Housein Mount Airy, a small Mama business called Eieio, you can find her shop here. Her fabrics are lovely and the quality on the sewing fantastic.
I wanted to try my hand at this great dress. The simple design and snap closure made it easy to sew it right up and have it on her in an hour. The hardest part were picking the fabrics to compliment one another.



I think it turned out lovely. Looking forward to making more!

It's oh so quite

I've been oh so quite here. But I feel perhaps I may be hitting my stride again.
This little Lady we will call Nikette. Made for a Sweet friend turning 1 yesterday. We went to a butterfly lunch with tea sandwiches & quiche. Quite lovely indeed.


And so peaceful until.....

My handy blog app was on the fritz this week..,,
So I am playing a bit of catch up.

Above we have the three little bears enjoying the steamer trunk.
When I was little I would hide out in that trunk too. I still can remember the musty smell and what it was like from the inside.

Could you give me a hand?

It was a day
Of half completed projects
Laundry
& never making it to the market

Dinner
Found us empty handed
But things picked up at the
Great Wall
We ate gazed at the fish
& were happy once again.

Accordion to sources, something's been bubbling up....

Making

We made laterns with jelly jars



Made laughs by dressing up silly



& made wishes in the fountain


Not a bad day at all.

Night

Close the door
Slowly step
Through the dark
Past the bookcase
To the bed

Retire your socks
Leave your clothes
Behind in a little bundle
By the foot of the bed

Scootch the blanket
& fold it around you
Lying between the edge & me
I can feel your body retire
Your feet & legs sigh
Your arms finding home for the night

I can sense the clouds over your eyes
Pulling you away to dreams
& feel your final shake
Into sleep

Setting sail on the littlest iceberg

Hands down it was a good day....
